    This is a VCE program adapted from the Centers for Disease Control’snationwide DPP that has been proven to prevent or delay T 2 diabetes andbeneficial for persons diagnosed as pre-diabetic. It is a yearlong program, butwith your consistent participation it is designed to support weight loss,improvements in blood glucose and ALC levels, healthier eating and dailyphysical activity practices. If you are interested in finding out if you arepre-diabetic, a prediabetes screening will be offered at the DPP informationsession. It will involve weigh-ins, maintain logs/journals, and establishing6-month goals. You will be given a participant information manual, pedometer,and resistance band. Registration is required.     Marcus Robbins, historian, collector, and President of the Friends ofthe Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum, will present his exclusive collection ofmemorabilia related to the Battle of Hampton Roads, along with artifacts fromthe collection of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum. The historic Battle ofIronclads, which took place March 8 & 9, 1862, was one of the mostsignificant engagements of the Civil War, changing forever the nature andtechnology of naval warfare.     This is a VCE program adapted from the Centers for Disease Control’snationwide DPP that has been proven to prevent or delay T 2 diabetes andbeneficial for persons diagnosed as pre-diabetic. It is a yearlong program, butwith your consistent participation it is designed to support weight loss,improvements in blood glucose and ALC levels, healthier eating and dailyphysical activity practices. If you are interested in finding out if you arepre-diabetic, a pre-diabetes screening will be offered at the DPP informationsession. It will involve weigh-ins, maintain logs/journals, and establishing6-month goals. You will be given a participant information manual, pedometer,and resistance band. Registration is required. She holds Masters degrees in Early Childhood Education and Art Education and a Bachelors degree in Religious History.
