Winter Wonderland

Location: Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center

Celebrate the season with Winter Wonderland a holiday classic for generations of Hampton Roads visitors and residents. Animated displays from the Coleman Collection feature Victorian skaters and carolers, enchanted forest of bears, deer and other fauna along with Santa’s workshop, candy store and bakery. These holiday displays delight visitors of all ages.

Winter Wonderland Hours:

  • Tuesday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Closes at 5:00 p.m. on December 24th & 31st
Closed Christmas day and Mondays, except December 19th & 26th

Fall is here and as the days grow shorter, birds from the Chesapeake Bay region and beyond take the cue to get ready for winter. Introduced by Professor Andrew Quicke, Yentl is a 1983 American romantic musical drama film from United Artists (through MGM), and directed, co-written, co-produced, and starring Barbra Streisand based on the play of the same name by Leah Napolin and Isaac Bashevis Singer, itself based on Singer’s short story “Yentl the Yeshiva Boy”. The Winter holiday season is fun for people of all ages… but what’s it like for creatures from around the world?  Find out in Rainbow Puppet Productions presentation of “Winter Wildlife.”  Highlights of the program include a visit from the Big Bad Wolf as he tries to steal Grandma’s holiday goodies from Little Red Riding Hood.
