Lynyrd Skynyrd at nTelos Wireless Pavilion

Legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd returns with a fiery slice of Southern style guitar rock heaven in Last of a Dyin' Breed, their newest release on Roadrunner/Loud & Proud Records due August 21, 2012. This is the kind of record guaranteed to feed the needs of the multi-generational Skynyrd Nation, and continue the renewed vigor the band exhibited with their last album, 2009's God & Guns.

For the passionate, longtime fans of the band, this is Skynyrd at the top of their game, complete with instantly memorable songs, more hooks than a tackle box, and a blistering three-guitar attack at full power. From the raging guitars of the title track and the pounding, funky homage to local talent in "Home Grown" to the mind-blowing "Honey Hole," Lynyrd Skynyrd sound like young bucks having one hell of a good time, which, regarding the latter, founding member Gary Rossington says is very much the case.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets on sale at Tcketmaster or at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion boxoffice.

9

Mumford & Sons at nTelos Wireless Pavilion
with Special Guest DAWES & Aaron Embry

The achievements of Mumford & Sons since the release of Sigh No More has been a success story rarely matched of recent years.  It's a story, however, that has been written and mapped out on the road. From a ten-day live adventure across India, to sold-out arenas in America and Australia, and from the festival fields of Europe, to impromptu parks on the Railroad Revival Tour in America, each and every town and city that has welcomed the band has been treated to a jubilant and suitably intimate performance, regardless of the size of venue.

Off the road, Sigh No More is a record that has garnered much acclaim. It's an album that won the band a UK Brit Award in 2010 (Best Album), and was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize Award in the same year. Outside of Britain, Mumford & Sons picked up two Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Rock Song), and put in a typically assured live performance alongside Bob Dylan covering Maggie's Farm at the awards themselves. Sigh No More has incredibly sold in excess of 4 million copies globally.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets on sale at Tcketmaster or at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion boxoffice.

Duran Duran nTelos Wireless Pavilion

Duran Duran are an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1978. They were one of the most successful bands of the 1980s and a leading band in the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" of the United States. Since the 1980s, they have placed 14 singles in the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart and 21 in the Billboard Hot 100 and have, according to the Sunday Mercury, sold more than 100 million records. While they were generally considered part of the New Romantic scene along with bands such as Spandau Ballet when they first emerged, they later shed this image. The band worked with fashion designers to build a sharp and elegant image that earned them the nickname "the prettiest boys in rock." The band's controversial videos, which included partial nudity and suggestions of sexuality, became popular in the early 1980s on the then-new music video channel MTV. Duran Duran were among the first bands to have their videos shot by professional directors with 35 mm film movie cameras, which gave their videos a much more polished look. In 1984, the band were early innovators with video technology in their live stadium shows.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets on sale at Tcketmaster or at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion boxoffice.
