    The United States Air Force Band: Airmen of Note
    at Willett Hall

    8 PM - The premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force featuring 18 of the most talented jazz musicians in the country. "The Note" was created in 1950 to carry on the tradition of Major Glen Miller's Army Air Corps dance band.

    This is a free event.

    10th Annual Portsmouth Power in the Park
    Weekend Power boat races

    Noon - 5:00 PM - Portsmouth offers one of the fastest race courses in the U.S. Several world records have been set on this well protected race site situated in a park setting. Come by boat or car and enjoy a day at the races. Admission and parking are free to the public. Competitors have traveled from all over the country to have a chance at setting the next world record.

    The Raleigh Ringers at Willett Hall

    3 PM - An internationally acclaimed, advanced community hand-bell choir based in Raleigh, NC.     Portsmouth Restaurant Week Begins

    Through May 5 - Time to be adventurous with your taste buds and come out to try out of this world appetizers, entrees and desserts. Once again, over 20 restaurants will be offering their best fare for patrons to sample. Most of the participating restaurants will provide price fix lunch menus and dinner menus. Some may be just providing a little something special in recognition of this special week in the Portsmouth culinary community.
